Kenya- Day 10- Kitengela Glass
Sunday, July 8 Today was a beautifully sunny day in Nairobi! We went to a glass blowing business, Kitengela Glass. On our way there we drove by one of the game reserves and saw a group of baboons alongside the road! The glass shop was a wonderfully wacky place, with holes in the upper floors and long ropes to slide down to get you to the lower floor. The buildings at Kitengela Glass were of Gaudi equesk architecture. As we wove our way around the morphed buildings and shops we noticed a long suspension bridge hidden among the trees, which we payed a small sum to cross. The suspension bridge was constructed from thin wire which added to its bounce and sway. It was a little unnerving to cross but provided amazing views of the river below and surrounding trees.

After the glass shop we headed Ronald’s house for some famous Kenyan tea. We talked with Ronald his two daughters and his new wife. We looked at a slide show of their wedding pictures too. It was interesting to see the cultural differences in weddings. After we drank our tea and enjoyed the pictures we went to go meet up the Derek and Josh who were on their way to the airport to fly back to Derek’s homeland of Ireland. After our goodbyes we ended the night with an amazing seafood dinner that was to die for at Seven Sea Food in Nairboi!
